This executive summary shares an overview of the purpose and research question, methodology, results, and recommendations from our team’s usability test on the St. Paul Police Webpage.

Purpose and Research Question

Our usability test focused specifically on establishing and validating user performance and preference measures by addressing efficiency, ease of use, and user satisfaction. Our research questions for usability testing included:

Our specific research question was as follows: How does the St. Paul police website's content and structure guide a user through finding and using popular services effectively and efficiently?

Efficiency was measured by the amount of time it took for the participants of this test to complete the tasks that they are presented with. Critical and noncritical errors were counted, as well as the participants' satisfaction based on their comments and ratings, which they recorded after each scenario and after they completed the entire test.
